About Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind.

Tai Chi has a history of hundreds of years in China, although pinpointing the actual origin is difficult. Originally the sets were designed as a martial art, however over the centuries the many health benefits of practicing Tai Chi have meant that since the 20th Century, the sets have increasingly become forms of slow-moving, gentle, non-competitive exercise.
