Before I moved to Australia I was a qualified High School Teacher in China. Once in Australia, I obtained a double degree in Business and Accountancy from Griffith University and worked in the financial industry for more than 6 years. I have always been grateful that I was brought to Australia to learn these things, but the more I did them, I realised they weren’t my passion.
Even though Tai Chi is officially a national sport of China, I didn’t learn it until I moved to Australia. My first teacher was an amazing man (my grandfather’s best friend Master Chen) who taught Tai Chi in New Farm park until he died at the age of 93! As I practiced more and learned the many health benefits of Tai Chi, I wanted to share this with as many people as possible and make the world a better place. Some people find it hard to learn traditional Tai Chi sets, and I found this frustrating, but then I discovered Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute and the easy to learn modified programs created so that people of all abilities can experience the benefits of Tai Chi.
Through Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute, I am a Certified Tai Chi Instructor and Leader of both the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes programs.
